Blue Streets of Chefchaouen
Chefchaoen known as the Blue Pearl and the Blue City is a gorgeous fortress in the Rif Mountains of Northwest Morocco. This wonderful city is distincly identified and remembered by its vibrant blue washed medina that is truly entrancing. During our trip through Morocco, we left Tangier and stopped to this breathtaking city that was on our way to our next stop in Fez.
Mountains Close to Chefchaouen
Before we even arrived to Chefchaoen, I was completely starstruck by the beauty of the mountains we passed. They were so vast and lovely. And as someone who loves nature and is an environmental studies student, it was so fascinating seeing the variety of vegetation and wildflowers around the area.
Not long after we stopped at these gorgeous mountains, did we soon see and encounter the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen. This city was only supposed to be a stop in between Tangier and Fes, but it was so much more.
The vibrant hues of blue - sky, cobalt, teal - were all absolutely stunning. From the walls to the streets, the richness of blue encircled and follwed us along our journey. The coloful plants sprawling across the blue walls and the bright art brought so much light into this historical gem. There was just such a sweetness to this city. Even though we only were here to stop by and grab lunch, wandering these blue streets was worthwhile.
